Mengding Ganlu Tea (蒙頂甘露) is a rare Chinese green tea produced on the top of Mengshan Mountain in the famous mountains of Sichuan. It is not as famous as other Chinese Greens such as Dragon Well , Bilouchun etc. However, we are truely amazed by this forsaken gem when we take the first sip of it. Mengding Ganlu is characterized by its slender tea type, clear soup color, fragrant and refreshing, mellow and sweet taste. Due to its high quality, it has been selected as China's national ceremony tea for many times.
Meng Dingyi means "the top of Mengshan". Mengshan is located in two counties, Mingshan and Ya'an in Sichuan Province. The annual average temperature in this area is about 14 degrees, and the mountains are covered with drizzle & fog all the year round. It can be said that it is the best place to grow tea. Such an ecological environment can weaken the direct sunlight and increase the scattered light, which is more conducive to the formation of nitrogen compounds in tea.
The characteristics of Mengding Ganlu tea: The tea color is light green and clear, and it smells already indicates a strong unmami. The strong umami strikes the taset buds and followed by a rich nuttiness. It finishes with a light bittersweetness at throat with a trace of floral note.
