Description
Spring Delux Oriental Beauty Oolong - Bitten Sweet
It is said that the Oriental Beauty was the Queen’s favourite and named by her. The honey and fruity scent that the Oriental Beauty exudes is thanks to an insect called "little green leafhopper" (tea jassid) that lives on its tea trees. Once bitten, the tea leaves would curl and stop growing, and produce a unique aromatic substance. In the subsequent oxidation process, the aromatic substance is catalyzed, and emits a rich fruity honey fragrance.
Our Oriental Beauty is made from the Taiwan Tea No. 19 cultivar, also called 碧玉 Biyu (Jade) which grow at altitude of 2400m. Teas from this cultivar tend to have a delicate aroma, smooth texture and clear liquor.
Oriental Beauty has a natural honey and fruity aroma. The beginning is sweet and mellow with aromas of honey and ripe fruit overlapping each other. The finish is fragrant in both around the teeth and cheeks and the aftertaste is refreshing.
