The raw leaves for this white tea cake were picked in one of the core areas of white tea production in Waizha village, known locally as Chaitou Mountain in 2014 while the leaves are left for natural aging for 3 years to create the mature fragrance and taste through out the cake rather than having the outer layer aging faster.
Upon drinking, the liquid is sweet and smooth, and carries a clear raisin, light floral and pekoe aroma. Texture is thick and the aftertaste is delightfully sweet. Comparing with our 2016 Fuding White Tea (Gong Mei) Cake, it is richer in raisin taste and thicker. If this tea is stored and left to age for longer periods of time, it will soon develop a mellower, richer taste. We would suggest comparing with our 2019 Premium Old tree White Peony Cake. It would be interesting to test out the new and aged leaves. If you like Rooster & White tea, this is must get item for your collection.
